Lesley Lillard Stevens, age 90, of Madison Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 5th in her home. Born on October 17th, 1935, and raised in Wolftown, Virginia to the late Lester Banks Lillard and Eleanor Dawson Lillard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Adle Stevens.
She was a devoted mother to her sons, David and Wayne Stevens, a cherished grandmother to Kate, Quinn, Hugh, Rory Stevens, Courtney Elliott and a beloved sister to her brother, Dewey Lillard.
After receiving her nursing degree from Stuart Circle Hospital, she began work in Alexandra Virginia. Lesley married David Stevens and had two sons. Upon the tragic death of her beloved David in 1970, she moved back home to Madison to be close to family and friends. Lesley lived a life full of resilient joy and dedication to helping others.
Lesley rebuilt a life centered on faith and family and thrived in the community she loved. While raising her two boys, she established prayer groups, nursed the sick, participated in many fund raisers and events and took anyone that needed a ride to their doctor's appointments or just out shopping. Many considered her "The Angel of Madison County." She will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Alan Gray officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the funeral home.
