Leslie and I became friends when we first met. I loved visiting with Leslie. Then she needed help taking care of James so she could have a small break. I loved Leslie and wanted to help. So I figured out to leave my kids at home so I could help with James. Leslie was kind and patient while she taught me to clear out his trach. James was the sweetest baby. His life was rough, and I enjoyed loving him just like Leslie when he was in my care. It was sad when I moved away, but Leslie and I still stayed in touch. We would try to call each other on our birthdays. I was so happy when I heard that Evyn was serving a mission. I am grateful that we got to hug and talk in person at my daughter´s wedding in January. Leslie is one of those people that you meet and they stay with you forever, no matter how near or far you are. I treasure all the time I was able to learn about patience and kindness from Leslie, she will always be in my heart
I love you Leslie, love Melanie

Leslie was one of the kindest, most sincere woman I have known. She was a great example to me of humility and love. I am grateful I was able to know her and learn from her.

I will miss you, my sweet friend, Leslie. Thanks for being a small part of my life for the last 3 years as I got to know you and your wonderful family. We went through some of our cancer journeys together, and I hope I was a support to you as you were for me. You are now with your precious son and can finally be at peace. Love you friend!
Love, Jolyn Gates
