Leslie Bettinger

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Leslie Bettinger, aged 68, of Brunswick, ME, on February 10th, 2024, following a valiant battle with Cancer. In her final moments, Leslie found solace surrounded by cherished family and loved ones.
Born on June 12, 1955, in Newport, Rhode Island to Vincent & Jeanette Lanza, along with surviving older sister (Pamela Galvan), Leslie's journey as a Navy child led her across the United States and Canada before finding her home in Brunswick for her formative years and beyond.
Leslie was a devoted mother to her three surviving sons: Jesse (Los Angeles, CA), Seth, and Peter (both of Brunswick, ME). While she didn't have biological daughters, Leslie was blessed with a beloved daughter-in-law, Jordan Holt Bettinger, and a cherished "surrogate" daughter, Meagan McGee, both from Brunswick.
Throughout her illness, Leslie found comfort in the unwavering love, zest for life, and athletic pursuits of her grandchildren: Parker (10) and Hadley (9). In her role as Nana, she continued to shower them with love and support until her final breath.
Survived by countless, loving, aunts, uncles, and cousins, Leslie leaves behind a legacy of resilience, boundless spirit, and unwavering compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
In honoring Leslie's memory, her family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life rather than the sorrow of her passing. Respecting her wishes, there will be no funeral service, and her ashes will be scattered in the places she held dear. In lieu of formal gatherings, the family requests that you hold Leslie in your thoughts and prayers.
