In Loving Memory of Leslie C. Hall, Jr.
April 21, 1926 - June 20, 2025
On the early morning of June 20, 2025, our world lost a truly cherished and gentle soul. Leslie C. Hall, Jr. passed away peacefully at The Woods at Cedar Run at the age of 99.
A life well-lived, a heart deeply loved.
Born on April 21, 1926, in Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania, Leslie was the beloved son of Leslie C. Hall and Helen A. Rockwell Hall. He was the second of six children and affectionately known as "Sunny" from a young age - a fitting nickname for someone whose easygoing, quick wit, bright smile, and infectious laughter warmed every room he entered. He will always be the light of our family's heart.
After graduating from Marysville High School, Leslie immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served during World War II. His dedication, courage, and sense of duty during a defining time in history were among the many examples of the quiet strength and service that marked his life.
More than 75 years ago, Leslie met the love of his life, Mary E. Hall, and it was truly love at first sight. Together they shared a remarkable and inseparable life filled with boundless joy, unwavering devotion, resilience, faith, and kindness. Mary preceded Leslie in death just a few short weeks ago, but he held her presence closely in his heart until they reunited in heaven. Their love story was the foundation of a strong and loving family and an inspiration to all who knew them.
After graduating from the Spring Garden Institute of Technology in Philadelphia, Leslie pursued a successful 29-year career as a product design engineer at AMP, Inc. His sharp mind, meticulous skill, and creativity made him a respected and valued colleague. He was also a charter member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Camp Hill, where his faith played a guiding role throughout his life.
Leslie lived with deep compassion and genuine patience for others. His heart was warm and generous, and he expressed his love through countless acts of kindness and creativity. He had a passion for woodworking, especially scrollwork, and took great joy in crafting unique treasures for family and friends- Christmas ornaments, address signs, Easter baskets, beautiful handmade Valentines for Mary, and other pieces of intricate art that are now cherished heirlooms.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Leslie was an avid bike rider. Well into his 90s, he enjoyed daily rides on his recumbent bike through the Camp Hill area, taking in the fresh air and sunshine while exchanging friendly greetings with neighbors and passersby. These rides were a source of exercise, joy, and connection- uplifting both his body and his spirit.
He lived with intention, curiosity, kindness, and gratitude. He found joy in the everyday and saw the good in every person. Leslie's legacy is one of love, craftsmanship, humility, and grace.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary E. Hall; two brothers, Robert M. Hall and Jack P. Hall; two sisters, Caroline I. Watson and Gloria H. Luckenbaugh; and sons-in-law, Robert C. Coover and David Maust.
He is survived by his son, Leslie C. Hall III, and his wife Lynn of Oak Point, TX; his daughters, Mary E. Coover of
Camp Hill, PA, and Gloria L. Maust of Elizabethtown, PA; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, David A. Hall.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate care teams at The Woods at Cedar Run and Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, whose kindness and dedication brought comfort, peace, and joy to Leslie. We are forever grateful.
A celebration of Leslie's well-lived life will be held at The Woods at Cedar Run, 824 Lisburn Rd., Camp Hill, on Friday, June 27 at 11:00 AM. Myers Baker Funeral and Cremation Services in Camp Hill has been trusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.
His hands built beauty, his heart gave joy, his life gave love.
