Leslie "Les" Helgeson, 69, of Fargo, ND, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Les was born June 7, 1954, to Harvey and Priscilla (Proulx) Helgeson in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School. Following high school, he continued his education at Anoka Technical College where he trained to become a chef. While Les was a fantastic cook and baker, over the years, he transitioned into the automotive industry. He worked for Dan’s Oil in West Fargo, ND, and later enjoyed 20 years at A1 Radiator Service in Fargo. On January 12, 1979, Les married Dianna Gladue. Together they made their home in Moorhead and started a family. In 1992, they opened Moorhead Radiator and he took pride in his work and serving the community until retiring in 2016.
In his younger years, he loved to drag race and work on his cars. He always had a passion for building electric train sets, and cherished the later years sharing them with his grandkids. He’ll be remembered for the love he had for his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Les is survived by his wife, Dianna; children, Toshia (Jim) Shaw, Troy Helgeson, Leslie Helgeson, Lisa Helgeson, Kaylee Helgeson, Kassie Helgeson, Kelsie Helgeson, Avalon Helgeson; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Joy) Helgeson, Lyle (Tammy) Helgeson, Lloyd Helgeson, Lowell (Dorothy) Helgeson and Leon Helgeson, Linda (Russell) Miller; foster parent, Maurice Erickson; foster brothers, Shawn, Jason and Chris Erickson; and many extended family members and friends.
