Born on May 13, 1958, in Greenville, SC, Leslie lived a life characterized by her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched through her work as an educator.
Leslie's journey through life was one marked by a profound commitment to nurturing growth, both in her personal garden and in the minds of young people. After earning her Associate's Degree, she embarked on a fulfilling career as an educator, shaping the future one child at a time with her innate ability to connect and inspire. Her passion for teaching was paralleled only by her love for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas E. Hollingsworth, Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. Together, they built a life filled with joy and purpose, raising their two children, Thomas Jacob Hollingsworth and GeLee Hollingsworth Sheriff, alongside her son-in-law, Adam Sheriff. Leslie's legacy continues through her two cherished grandchildren, Corley and Hollings Sheriff, who were the light of her life and her pride and joy.
Leslie's heart was as expansive as her smile, encompassing not only her family but also her friends, animals, and all children. She was a friend to many, always ready with a kind word, a listening ear, and a gentle hug. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for her pets and the wildlife that frequented her garden, a testament to her nurturing soul.
Those who knew Leslie would describe her as loving, kind, and gentle—words that only begin to capture the essence of a woman whose presence was a comfort and whose influence was a gift. Her kindness was a quiet strength that supported and uplifted those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
