You don't typically befriend the person you buy a home from, but this is a special house and Les was a special man. He was an inventor and innovator and put a lot of himself into the house. It's hard for me to think of anything here without thinking of him too.
He and I had a laundry list of weird similarities, beginning with the same birthday and ending with a love for Asian design. We had our final lunch together four Sundays before he joined Jackie in heaven and he got to visit here one last time. I'm glad of that.
I took this photo last year as he was explaining something to us with his dog, Lily, in his lap. That's how I will remember Les. Shaun and I will miss him greatly.
