Beloved uncle to 14, great uncle to 14 and "step-uncle" to friends' kids. He remembered birthdays and milestones for all. Survived by sister Laurie Walsh (John Derrickson), brothers Dennis (Leslie Marie), Duane (Teresa), friend Bob Beall, and many others. Les designated his remains to the Anatomy Gifts Registry. Jennifer thank you for sharing your memories. Les often talked about his personal trainer and working out, and he was disappointed when that gym closed. He was a big part of our family. We miss him.

I was thinking of Les out of nowhere today and something made me google his name and I am very sad to have found this obituary. I was Les' personal trainer at Retro Fitness for many years and was very fond of him. We stayed in contact even after the gym had closed but the last few years we had lost contact. I just wanted to say that Les talked about his family constantly. He loved seeing you all at holiday dinners and family gatherings and especially loved bragging about his niece and nephews. I felt like I knew all of you. He He was a man of consistency and loved his annual Maine and North Carolina trips, his weekly line dancing at Prospectors (I always wanted to go and see him in action but never made it there), and the annual Phila Flower Show. I am sorry that this is a few months late but he will be remembered fondly.

Les was fantastically good at raising one's mood. One time I was returning to work after having my hand stitched up after I was foolishly riding a shopping cart in the store's parking lot. I was feeling pretty low. When I got to my cubicle, what should I see but a doll sized shopping cart on my desk! Les had provided the perfect way for me to laugh at myself and feel better. I will always remember Les with fondness.
