Lester Hook

Lester Edward Hook age 99 of Springdale passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at his home. He was born August 29, 1912 in Turon, Kansas the son of John Arthur Hook and Alma Grace Scriven Hook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years Amanda Jewell Taylor Hook, his brothers, Russell Hook, Cyrus Hook and Arthur Hook. Lester worked for George's Inc. for over 50 years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening and horseback riding. He was a past member of the Springdale Riding Club and a Methodist. He is survived by one son, Lester Hook Jr. of the home, three daughters, Betty Hook of the home, Geraldine McGehee of Fayetteville and Pauline Franklin of Harrison. Two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 3, 2012 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with Rev. Audie Long officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
