Lester E. Springer

Lester E. Springer 81 of Elkhart, Indiana died at 3:07 A.M. in the Veterans Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born April 19, 1928 in Bloomington, Illinois to Elmer J. and Amanda (Sutter) Springer. He married Neva J. Grant July 3, 1956 in Bloomington, IL, she died November 24, 1994. Surviving is one daughter Cheryl Phelps of Goshen, IN; sons Bradley E. (Lori) Springer; Jeffery L. Springer of Elkhart, four grandchildren, sisters Mary Ann Heiser of Champaign, Illinois; Evelyn Ingold of Fisher, IL, brother Arlis of Delavan, IL; Melvin of Armington, IL. One sister Geraldine Zehr preceded in death. Mr. Springer was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean War, member and past commander of the DAV #19 and Bristol American Legion. He enjoyed photography and traveling. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol American Legion.
