Lester Woods

Lester E. Woods, 97 of Lima, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Lester was born November 23, 1927 in Lima, to Lester and Lydia (Reichelderfer) Woods, who preceded him in death. On August 1, 1949, he married the love of his life, Emma (Blue) Woods, who preceded him in death on December 19, 2011.
Lester was a proud United States Army veteran who honorably served during World War II. He was the Vice President of Manufacturing at Artex Hobby Products until his retirement. Lester was a member of Shawnee Alliance Church and he was a devoted follower of the Lord. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and, most of all, he loved his family. Lester adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson and they held a special place in his heart. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Lester is survived by his children, Tim (Sheena) Woods, Paul (Kathleen) Woods, Brenda (Barry) Bindel, and Deborah (Randy) Roxson; grandchildren, Justin (Veronica) Woods and Sarah (Brandon) Woods, and his great-grandson, Wesley Woods.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Jones and William Woods.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES - SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Rev. Lori Wright to officiate the service. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors performed by the active duty United States Army and VFW Post #1275.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
