Letha Whitewolf, (White Buffalo Calf Woman), Vóestaa'e, was called home on February 8, 2026 at the age of 71. She was surrounded by family. She was born on April 12, 1954 to Joseph Whitewolf, Sr. and Alice Beartusk. Her father named her after her aunt Rosie Doyle, a name she carried with pride and deep affection throughout her life. She will be remembered for her strength and love for family.
Letha worked for the Northern Cheyenne Tribe for 45 years at various programs including Tribal Forestry, Busby School, WIC Program, Human Services, Board of Health for 25 years and was currently the Director at Liheap for the past 17 years. She always did her best and took pride in her work. She loved helping people and gave her time and heart to others without hesitation. Letha enjoyed playing BINGO and in her earlier years she enjoyed bowling. She graduated from Busby High School.
Family was very important to Letha. She often said, "We are family, and we need to be strong for each other, reminding those she loved to support one another through good times and bad times. Her words and example will continue to guide her family.
Letha had a very special bond with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her love for them was endless.
Letha is survived by her daughter, Tanya Glenmore, her grandchildren Kaselei and Kaseian Glenmore, niece she raised as her own; Jodeci Heath, her grandchildren, Rocco Sharp, Kennen, Kingston (Precious), DeanWilcox and Luna Heath, great grandchildren; Loveland and Silo, aunt; Rosie Doyle, sisters; Priscilla Robinson, Eloise, Justine and Haroldine Whitewolf, Adopted son, Eddie (Millie) Foote, Sr., Nieces/nephews; Patti (David) Means, Pam Robinson, Tim (Sara) Robinson, Tom (Lana) Robinson, Tana Robinson, Joseph (Mary) Foote, Christy Foote, Malinda, Kenny, Leland, Sidonia, Goldstein, Joseph III, Alice, Billie Joy, Natasha, Brycie, Brynie, Nikki, Alice Jean (Kahyo), Jessica (Jon) Elkshoulder, Letha Bixby II, (Isaac)Melissa Royston, Sky Whitewolf. Letha is a descendent of Hump Back Woman, survivor of Sand Creek Massacre, Jessie BlackBear Bixby, Mary Bixby Eastman, Lucy Eastman, Beartusk, Pease, Twobulls, Blackhorse, Redwoman, Rowland, Yellownose, Tangled Yellow Hair, Bearcomesout, Starvingbear, Harris, Strangeowl, Killsontop, Littlebird, Oldbear, Greeny, Flores, Whitedirt, Pine, Redcherries, Bigfoot, Barton, BlackBear, Woodenlegs, Fox, Curley, Sherman, Bloor, Storm, Gray, Tallwhiteman, and Whiteman.
