I'm so sorry about the passing of Latitia Collins. I found out through the Nottingham Connection booklet. She was my English teacher at H.W. Smith Jr. High. I always liked her classes. Over the years I have often thought of her. She was a role model for me, at the time, when I needed one. My condolences to her family. She will be missed. Janice Burdick

Titia hired me as school nurse at Lincoln back in '88. As an administrator she was always supportive of the nurse's role in schools. I'm very sorry to hear of her passing. Blessings to her family at this sad time.

I am so sorry to hear of Titia's passing. She was highly qualified for her role as principal at Lincoln Middle School. I taught for 31 years and I can honestly say she , by far, was one of the best administrators that I had. We didn't just see Titia at work, she also invited the entire staff to their lovely home on the lake. She would host end of the year picnics there. It was always a wonderful time. I am so happy to see that she and John had many travel adventures after she retired. How fantastic! My sympathies to the entire Collins family.

Titia Collins was the Principal who hired me in 1986 to teach English at Lincoln MS. She was a detail oriented task master and held high expectations for all of her staff! One of my most memorable interactions was when she asked if she could observe me everyday over the course of a week (way outside of our teacher's contact! ) to see the continuity and flow of my lessons day to day. Those write ups she gave me were some of the finest detailed feedback evaluations i had in my 34 years of teaching. I believe this coincided with her own continuing education and something Titia was always concerned with- staying current and relevant! I loved reading her obituary and learning of her extensive travels after her retirement- what an inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing with us all what an amazing life she lead. Gwendolyn

So sorry to hear of Titias passing! On behalf of myself, along with former faculty and staff members of LIncoln Middle School, our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
She was a dedicated administrator, who was at the building by 7 am and driving from Cazenovia - even in the winter months! She was a firm leader and was able to have fun, as well!
A fond memory -
We had a Carnival to benefit Ronald McDonald House and she offered to be at the pie throwing booth as the target!
For a $10 donation, you could toss a whipped cream pie at her face! I missed by two inches! She helped raise extra money for the cause!
She and John welcomed the faculty and staff to their home on the lake for a fall back to school picnic with rides on the party boat! When she moved on to another position, she kept in touch with us at Lincoln.
When I heard that she and John moved to the Villages, I thought good for them. I retired 8 years ago and moved to Sarasota and often thought of her and maybe we would meet sometime if I would be passing by the area.
I was was telling visiting friends last week, who were renting for January at the Villages and mentioned her.
I will remember her as an influencing part of my teaching career.
Sincerely,
Dave Muolo

I am so saddened by the passing of Titia. She was beautiful in every way, smart and caring. We shared so many events over the years--too many to count. Our birthdays were three days apart and we had fun with that--Titia was older. Despite the move to FL, we kept in touch--though not often enough. I miss her. My heartfelt condolence to John, the children and grandchildren, her sister and family.
