Letitia Scott-Banks Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 28, 2025.
Rev. Letitia "Jice" D. Scott-Banks, 68, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 29, 1957, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, to the union of Streater E. and Bessie Mae (Sellers) Scott, Rev. Letitia lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service. Affectionately known as Jice among family and friends, she was a beloved pastor, legendary gospel recording artist, and cherished mentor to many, touching countless lives through her ministry, music, and unwavering compassion.

Known for her radiant presence and joyful spirit, Jice will also be remembered for her deep love of fashion, family gatherings, games, laughter, and cooking. Her voice lifted spirits, her wisdom guided hearts, and her warmth made everyone feel like family.

Rev. Scott-Banks shared twenty-five beautiful years of marriage and ministry with her late husband, Pastor Rev. Keith "Jackie" Banks. Together, they formed a powerful ministry partnership rooted in love, faith, and community.

She will be remembered with love by her children De'Andrea Scott of Sharon PA, Kyra Banks, Jacqueline Reed of Farrell, Lamont Peterson of Farrell, Monica (Daniel) Banks-Allen of Youngstown, OH, and Keith Scott of Port Orlando, FL.

Precious memories and moments will be shared by her siblings Paula Scott Hampton of Sumter, SC, Peggy Scott-Styles of Farrell, Streater Scott, Jr. of Farrell, Geraldine Smith of Cleveland and Carrie Scott of Sharon PA.

Her legacy has been entrusted to her grandchildren Mark Peterson, De'Andrea Pinkins, Jerone Williams, Lamont Peterson, Keith Williams, Jordyne Scott, Montiana Peterson, Jazmyne Scott, Giani Scott, Arianna Scott, Darius Allen, J'Adore Scott-Banks; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends who will miss her dearly.

As her faith became sight, Rev. Scott-Banks triumphantly entered eternity reuniting with her beloved husband, parents and siblings, Elmore Scott, Vernon F. Scott Sr., Horace Wilson, and Angela Green. Rev. Scott-Banks's legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of Pastor Letitia's life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the New Hope Baptist Church, 370 Spruce Street, Sharon. She will be in repose, alongside her brother Vernon F. Scott Sr., from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. There will be dedicated time for expressions and reflections during the visitation hours. The funeral services will begin at 11:00 with Pastor Clevon Dukes officiating and Superintendent Tyrone T. Steals as the celebrant.

At this time of intimate need and personal loss, the family of Rev. Letitia "Jice" D. Scott-Banks elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care, along with Transitional After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 1059 Hamilton Ave, Farrell, PA 724.983.1523
