Levi M Martinez, age 87 from Santaquin, Utah passed away December 12, 2025. He was born January 17, 1938 in Petaca, New Mexico to Alberto and Sella Melecia Martinez. He attended schools in Soldier Summit and Spanish Fork.
Levi served in the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic for 4 years. He later worked on the railroad and was a member of the United Laborers Teamster Union of North America for 15 years.
He married Mary Bustamente (Betty) and they had 3 children; Tony, Albert and Lucy. They were later divorced. He has 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Levi lived in California until 1989 when he moved to Santaquin. He loved to play his guitar and sing. He and some of this relatives formed a band and would play at the Eagles Lodge and several assisted living facilities. He enjoyed family gatherings and love to play his music just for fun. It was his happy place to play music.
He was a member and an Elder of the Springville Community Presbyterian Church. He worked on the building and grounds, most notably helping get the bell in the bell tower. He also worked to get an expert to help preserve the stained glass windows. He was a hard worker, proud of his heritage and was involved in charity work. Levi was always clean-cut, looked sharp, and took great pride in his appearance.
He is survived by his 3 children, brothers Ray (Josie) Martinez, sisters Clady Green, Rose Volpe. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Linda Wayland, Bertha McEwan, MaryAnn Hernandez, Esther Sanford.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing at Brown Family Mortuary on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Graveside services with military honors will follow at the Santaquin City Cemetery at 11:00 am.
