Roanoke Rapids, North CarolinaMrs. Levonia A. Coppage, age 70, of
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina With humbled submission to the will of God, we stand as a family to honor the life of Mrs. Levonia Avent Coppage. God wrapped His arms around Levonia and summoned His best angels to see her home on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was born on Thursday, October 7, 1954, to the late Luieda Avent in Barley, Virginia and then later was raised by her bonus mother, the late Rosa Pritchett in Emporia, Virigina. Levonia attended The Way of the Cross from a young age under the tutelage of Bishop Martha Parker and later Pastor Lenward Parker where she became an Evangelist. She received Christ as her Lord and Savior on May 22, 1994, and was baptized on November 12, 1994. In 2011, she became a member of Valley Community Church in
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina where she attended until she became ill.
Levonia graduated from Northwest High School in Littleton, North Carolina. She went on to become a Nursing Assistant through Halifax Memorial Hospital where she worked for 19 years. In the last years of her life, she was employed by Taco Bell in
Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. She once said she went back to work because she loved talking to people about Jesus and this gave her an opportunity to impact people daily. Fruity, as she was affectionately known by many, loved unconditionally. Her love was not limited to family but shared throughout the community and abroad. As a result of that unconditional love, she was one of God's best witnesses. She loved to evangelize and never met a stranger. With her infectious smile and love for the Word of God, many were added to the Kingdom of God. She was also an avid cat lover and enjoyed feeding them daily. She kept food and water with her so that she never met a stray cat that did not become a friend.
Levonia leaves her cherished memories in the care of her husband, Anthony Coppage. Levonia met Anthony on December 18, 2002, they had their first date on December 21, 2002, and were married on June 23, 2004. They enjoyed twenty-one beautiful years of Holy Matrimony, and she gained a son, Anthony Watson from this union. The story of her life and legacy is left in the care of her siblings, her brothers: Milton "Jimmy" Avent (Mary), Moses Lee Avent and John Stanton, all of
Roanoke Rapids, NC, Charles Stanton of Washington, DC, Millard Hardy, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Charlie A Tucker (Sharlene) of Powhatan, VA, Melton L. Tucker, Ronnie D. Tucker of Richmond, VA, and A. Wayne Tucker (Michelle) of Fort Mills, SC; her sisters: Carolyn M. Collins (Dave) of N. Chesterfield, VA, Linda Tucker (Leron) of Tarboro, NC, and Amanda Hardy of Charlotte, NC; a sister-in-law: Bernice Lamons of Pennington, NJ; two bonus sisters: Elizabeth Pritchett Rohatfux of Syracuse, NY and Rosetta Harris of Baltimore, MD; two uncles: David Avent (Joan) of Emporia, VA and Clyde Avent of Rocky Mount, NC; a close friend: G-ma; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She applied the Word according to Galatians 5:14 (NKJV), For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Levonia quietly exchanged this life for eternal rest. Her seeds are well sown; her service on earth is complete and she now experiences the victory and triumph of eternal life.
This is the life and legacy of Levonia Avent Coppage A life well lived and poured out to God!
