Levy Lemuel "Buddy" Overton Jr.

Mr. Levy "Buddy" Lemuel Overton, Jr. 81 of Rich Square, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
He was born in Cumberland County, North Carolina to the late Levy Lemuel Overton, Sr. and Irma Jenkins Overton and was preceded in death by his older brother, William Overton and his sister-in-law Ann Overton.
Buddy was thrilled to graduate from Enfield High School in 1961. He always enjoyed working,
especially at this father's theater (Levon Theater) in Enfield, NC and at Burger Chef in Newport News, VA.
Buddy had many hobbies, but he most cherished singing gospel songs, especially "How Great Thou Art". In his youth Buddy was passionate about fishing and he always loved listening to and discussing college sports, playing bingo, and working crossword puzzles.
Buddy had a kind and gentle spirit and very much enjoyed visits from family and friends.
He was always very anxious to speak with strangers in an effort to make new acquaintances.
We will all miss his contagious laugh.
Buddy's family is forever grateful for the loving care and kindness shown to him while he
was a resident at Rich Square Health Care and while he was a patient of Gentiva Hospice.
Buddy is survived by his brother, Santford Overton and his wife, Joan Lasota; his nephews, Gregory Overton, Jamie Overton, and Andrew Overton.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, North Carolina with Chaplain Danny Jones officiating.
