Lewis H. Landon Sr., 82, of Arkport passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Cooperstown Center Nursing Home following a long illness. He was born January 1, 1943, in Erwin, NY, the son of the late Harry and Gladys (Voorhees) Landon. On September 2, 1989, in Wellsville he married Thelma “TA” Arnold who predeceased him on February 27, 1994.
He formerly resided in Wellsville and Andover before moving to Arkport in 2022. He was employed as an Arborist and owned and operated Twin Tree Service for many years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 601, American Legion Post 702, and the VFW Post 2530. His passion was raising and racing field trial dogs.
He is survived by three sons, Lewis Landon Jr., of Angelica, Joseph Landon of Candor, and Bradley (Rachel) Landon of Arkport, two daughters, Shelly Landon of Florida, and Pam Keister of Florida, five step-children, Doreen (James) Frank of Jackson Summitt, PA, Lisa Tedder of Connecticut, Kim (Buddy) Cotter of Connecticut, Diana Shelp of Las Vegas, NV, Edward Shelp, of Scranton, PA several grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings, Ernie Landon of Hot Springs, AK, Bart Landon, Virginia, Bradley Landon of Galveston, TX, along with several other siblings, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in addition to his parents by a son, Neil Landon.
At his request there will be no prior visitation or service, but Lewis did request that you buy someone a beer in his memory. The burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
