Lewis B. Sheen III

SHIRLEY: Lewis B. Sheen, III, 66, of Shirley, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 7, 2022 at his home.
Lew was born in Livorno, Italy, the son of the late Lewis B. and Marie L. (MacMillan) Sheen. He attended Ayer High School and Hampshire Country School in Rindge, NH, overlooking Mt. Monadnock, where he found his love for the mountains.
In the mid 1970's Lew served in the United States Army.
As the son of an Episcopalian minister he enjoyed summers on the Cape. He joined and became an active member at Trinity Chapel in Shirley where his father finished out his ministry.
Along with the mountains he had an enthusiasm for the sea but no passion was stronger than the love he had for his three children.
He loved taking his family to airshows to extend his reverence for military planes, an adoration he gained while listening to countless stories of his fathers' experiences as a pilot of B26 during WWII.
He was an accomplished musician. It was with great pride that he helped many adults and children learn how to play the guitar. He taught out of the Sound of Thunder Studio in his Shirley home where he ran a recording studio. It was in his studio that he recorded many musicians from classical pianist Eugene Maslov to local bands including Ashbrook Haynes and his own bands The F'Old and G3NE.
He had worked as a mechanical engineer, with several pattens to name.
He leaves his three children, Kelly M. Sheen of Narragansett RI, Lewis B. Sheen IV of Taylorsville, Utah; and Patricia A. Sheen of Worcester; his sister Mariel. L. Stapel and brother-in-law, Bruce of Shirley, his brother Jonathan A. Sheen and Sister-in-law Cindy of Lunenburg; and his former wife, Nancy Carey of Townsend.
A Celebration of Lew's life will be held Saturday, July 16th, 2022 11:00 AM, at Trinity Chapel, 184 Center Road, Shirley. A pot luck reception will follow.
