Lewis Ray Townsend III, lovingly known as Ray, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Lake City, Florida. Born on December 4, 1975, Ray was a natural-born salesman who could sell anything he set his mind to. His charm, wit, and determination were unmatched. More than anything, Ray loved his family — especially his children and grandbabies, who were his greatest joy. His laughter, stories, and the way he lit up when talking about his loved ones will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy Townsend, his loving mother, Debbie (Tony) Goldie, brother Michael (Carol Ann) Townsend, and sister DeLaina (Darin) Wilson. He leaves behind six children: Trever of Lake City, FL; Monica of Spring, Tx; Katlyn of Live Oak, FL; Raina of Jacksonville, FL; Brooke of Live Oak, FL; and Joseph of Hatchbend, FL. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Elijah, Addalyn, Remington, Jaxton, Holden, Kade, and Stetson. Ray’s legacy will continue through his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and the love he poured into everyone around him. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Friday, November 7, 2025, at Live Oak Assembly of God with Pastor Mike Townsend and Rev. Darin Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Live Oak Assembly of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Thursday, November 6, 2025, in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home, Lake City. Guerry-Forbes Funeral Home is honored to serve the Townsend family.
