Liana Joyce Silva

WAREHAM – Liana Joyce (Silva) Silva, 77, of West Wareham, passed away on December 1, 2025, at Falmouth Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Rudolph J. and Hilda J. (Barros) Silva.

She was born in Wareham and lived there her whole life. She graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School and played basketball there all four years.

Liana worked as a Lead Assembler for Lockhead Martin before retiring. She was a wonderful worker who stayed there loyally for 40+ years and made countless friends during her time there. Daily she came home from work with the best stories about antics with her coworkers that made you feel like you were truly there.

She loved spending her days outside with her family who meant the world to her; gardening, crafting and cooking meals to eat with loved ones outside on her deck. Liana was a huge fan of the Boston Celtics, she never missed a single game on TV. She watched with equal passion and excitement whether the Celtics were winning or losing. Liana attended at least one game a year in person with her family and was often jealous if anyone she knew went to a game without her.

Survivors include her family, Stacy Silva of West Wareham with her grandson John Brand IV and his wife Alexandra Brand of Marlborough. Liana's daughter Sonia Silva of East Wareham and her grandson Alexander Silva and his wife Mari of New Bedford and her great granddaughter Catalya Solmarie Silva; her brothers and sisters, Gloria Swingle of Marion, Philomena Gilbert of Mashpee, Rose Dominatto of Dennis, Georgianna Silva of West Wareham, Cassandra Silva of Wareham, Brittnay Silva of Lynn Haven (FL), William Silva of Wareham, and Andrew Silva of New Bedford; and several nephews and nieces. She was the sister of the late Rudolph J. Silva, Jr. and the late John Michael Silva, Sr.

Visiting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham.

Donations in Liana's memory may be made to the Pan-Mass Challenge and to support the fundraising efforts of her lifelong friend Dr. Robert (Bob) Friedman.
