Elizabeth Ann “Libby” Shaw, beloved to her family and many friends, went home to be with Jesus on December 7, 2023. She was born on January 24, 1946, and led an extraordinary life that touched the hearts of many. She was preceded in death by her parents, June Ingram Elmore and Harry Austin Elmore of Knoxville, TN.
Libby is survived by her loving husband Lee, daughter Kristen, sons Jonathan and Nicholas, sister Becky, granddaughters Leelee, Ellee, Harper, and Madison, grandsons Clayton, Riverson, Nathan, and Houston and numerous loved ones.
Libby was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She graduated from the University of Tennessee (for Texas relatives, the real UT) in Knoxville with a degree in Speech Pathology. She worked as a speech pathologist in Italy when Lee was in the Navy and later in Memphis. After her short professional career, Libby dedicated her life to establishing her home for Lee and her children, loving them unconditionally, and teaching them about Jesus. Libby loved her friends like no other, maintaining and cherishing their relationships her entire life. The prayer network she shared with them and family members blessed many to an unprecedented level. She loved Jesus more than anyone or anything and passed this love to all as an extension of His hand. Libby loved to read a good book, especially by a great fireplace or on a beautiful beach. She loved the beach and the ocean as these wonderful parts of God’s creation so dramatically demonstrate His power and His love for His children.
