Lidia Cortez Chavez

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lidia Cortez Chavez, who peacefully left us on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the age of 70. Lidia was born on May 10, 1955, in Guanajuato, Mexico to Maria Martinez and Nicolas Cortez. Lidia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth, love, and joy will forever be remembered by all who knew her.

Lidia was the proud and loving mother of Salvador Chavez Jr. and spouse Alicia Menchaca, Elizabeth Camargo and spouse Esteban Camargo. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her children, as she was also a cherished sister to Rosa Cortes, Josefina Cortes, Nicolas Cortes, Cecilia Cortes, Carmen Cortes, Domingo Cortes, Guadalupe Cortes and Maricela Cortes.

Lidia's love for her family knew no bounds. She was a devoted grandmother to Ashley Chavez, Leslie Chavez, Destiney Chavez, Esteban Camargo Jr., Rylie Chavez, Daniel Camargo and Sebastian Camargo, whose lives she touched deeply with her kindness and warmth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Chavez; parents, Nicolas Cortes and Maria Martinez; siblings, Ma. Luz Cortes, Ma. Jesus Cortes and Elda Cortes.

Rest in peace, Lidia. You are forever loved, and your spirit will remain in the hearts of your family and all who were blessed to know you.
