Lila M. Tenney

Lila M. Tenney, age 87, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 6:05 PM on Friday, October 30, 2025 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on May 28, 1938 in Grimes, Iowa the daughter of Richard and Cleo (Cribb) Tasler. She graduated from Johnston High School in Des Moines, Iowa. She married James M. Tenney on July 29, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He preceded her in death on January 6, 2021. She leaves behind five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her siblings: Delores "Katy" (Gene) Loomis of Lugoff, South Carolina, Richard "Dick" Charles (DeeAnn) Tasler of Crystal River, Florida, Linda Diana (Dave) Holmes of Woodhull, Illinois, and Paula Sue Larkin of Gray, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Rhonda, one grandson, Robert Eric Williams, three brothers, Nyal Dean "Babe" Tasler, Gene Lee Tasler, Roger William "Punk" Tasler, three sisters-in-law (Judy, Dixie, and Dellamae), one nephew-in-law (Doug), and one nephew (Toby). She worked for an electronics company in Minneapolis, Minnesota for many years and moved to Alabama in 2001 to work for her sister Katy and to get out of the cold winters. After her husband passed, she moved to Galesburg, Illinois again to be close to family. Living in Hitchcock Apartments, she enjoyed Wednesday afternoon Bingo and watching the Game Show network on TV. She loved being with family, especially her nieces and nephews and was always ready to play card games. She was special to them and they have great memories of her. She missed being with her church family in the last weeks of her life. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Maranatha Chapel in Alpha, Illinois.
