Lili Marlane (Gerlisky) Joseph, 71, of Forest, Virginia, went home to be with Jesus on May 4, 2024, at Duke University Medical Center.
Lili was born in 1952, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late Richard Gerlisky and Lillian Orchard Carty. She enjoyed traveling to England as a teenager and visiting with her mother’s family. She was a 1970 graduate of Portage High School in Portage, Pennsylvania, and completed one semester at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa, Georgia. She enjoyed being a homemaker and pastor's wife but also had a career as a secretary for Omega Industrial Electric as well as her Church.
Lili was a member of Forest Alliance Church and loved working with ladies’ groups and children. She enjoyed spending time with family, going for walks with her husband and taking care of her dog.
Lili is survived by Fred Joseph, her loving husband of 53 years; her daughter Sharon Joseph; her granddaughter Kaylin Joseph; her sister Wendy Cloutier; her niece Sabrina Fulp; and many loving friends. She was also close to Fred’s 5 brothers and 5 sisters and their families.
In addition to her parents, Lili is preceded in death by her son James Joseph, her brother-in-law Rene Cloutier, and her Grandmother Emma McDaniel who helped raise her.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 10, 2024, at 12:00pm followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm at Forest Alliance Church located at 1562 Thomas Jefferson Road in Forest, Virginia. Dr. Bruce Overstreet will be the officiating Pastor. A burial will follow at the Virginia Memorial Park located at 11490 Forest Road in Forest Virginia.
