Lillian Nell Pearson

Lillian Nell Pearson passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on March 16, 2026 at the age of ninety-nine. She was born into the family of Fred Ben Pearson and Alice Pauline Pearson Pearson on January 27, 1927 in Reagan, Texas. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Grover, Mary Ben, Audrey Lee, and Billy Wayne Pearson. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Nell graduated from Reagan High School in 1944 and from Bryan College in 1949 where she majored in English. She served her Lord as a missionary through the Global Baptist Mission Projects in Austria from 1952-1992. She then moved to South Africa for a year and a half to serve as a missionary there. She returned to the States due to health issues. In 1994 Nell moved to a single-family home on the campus of Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburg, where she volunteered in the library and various other places where needed.

Nell’s family would like to express deep appreciation to Nell’s caregivers during the last few years of her life: Lorie Escamilla, Gina Escamilla, and Alma de Jesus, as well as Allstate Hospice Care.

A Memorial Service for Nell will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1600 Harvey, McAllen, TX 78501 where Nell worshiped. In lieu of flowers, you are encouraged to make a contribution to Global Baptist Mission, PO Box 505, Skyland, NC 28776.
