Lillian B. Rose

Lillian B. Rose, age 87, of Virginia Beach, Va., was called away from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Lillian was born on August 22, 1934 in Norfolk, Va. to Brandon Bell and Wilfred Price Booker. Lil enjoyed her childhood at the beach. She was either playing in the surf or on the beach near her family's hotel; the Courtney Terrace in Virginia Beach. She had a passion for ballet dancing. Lil graduated from Oceana High School in 1952 and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from RPI in Richmond, Va. After graduation, her first job was a Teacher at Princess Anne High School where she taught multiple subjects over several years. She was also named "Teacher of The Year". She later went to work as an Office Manager at Acacia Mutual Life Insurance Co. where she retired after 20 years of service. Lil was a proud member of The Society of the Lees of Virginia, which is comprised of descendants of Colonel Richard Lee. Lil was a hardworking and dedicated single Mother of two boys Brian and Jeff. She never missed a baseball or basketball game. On the weekends she loved going fishing and crabbing in the bay with her sons. Lil was affectionately called DD by her niece and nephews Susan, David and Paul Palmer.

Lil was predeceased in death by her mother, Wilfred Price; Father, Brandon Bell Booker; her sister, Barbara Palmer and Son, Brian Rose.

Lil is survived by her son, Jeff Rose, two Granddaughters, Sherri Schultz and Elizabeth Rose; as well as 6 Great-Grandchildren who called her "Grandma Rose". Lil was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed tremendously.

The family would like to thank the dedicated workers at BayLake's Retirement Community for their outstanding care over the last 3 years.

We will be celebrating Lillian's life with a graveside service on Saturday July 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery 2020 Laskin Road Virginia Beach, VA, 23454.
