In Loving Memory of Lillian Salyer March 21, 1945 – May 27, 2025
Lillian Salyer, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and woman of unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, at the age of 80. Her life was a testament to kindness, strength, and a deep love for God and family.
Lillian was a devoted mother and grandmother with a nurturing soul who spent her life always putting her family first and creating a home filled with warmth, love, and kindness.
A longtime member of the Apostolic Church of Truth, Lillian was a Sunday School teacher for many years and found great joy in playing music for worship services. Her love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life, and she used her gifts to uplift others and glorify God.
She also retired from the State of Ohio after many years of dedicated service. Whether in her career, church, or home, Lillian lived with humility, grace, and a heart full of compassion.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Ferguson; her loving husband of 41 years, Rev. Raymond L. Salyer; and her siblings Jean, Annie, Peggie, Minti, Nina, Sandi, and Jimmy.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Valarie (John) Kesel and Kimberly (Eric King) Pettis-King; grandchildren Jessica (Aaron) Meese, Justin (Caitlin) Pettis, Mikayla and Kyle Kesel, Brittany and Brandon King; great-grandchildren Colton and Kylie Pettis, and Peyton, Parker, and Liam King; and her sisters, Mary Margaret Zorns, Ginger Layton, and Becky Mathena, all of whom cherish her memory and unwavering love.
Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and gratitude for her beautiful life beginning at noon on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, with a service to celebrate Lillian’s life beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, officiated by Rev. Mitchell Butler. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
Rest in peace, reunited with Daddy, watching over us all. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing that your love continues to surround us in all we do.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home in Lillian's name to help with expenses at this difficult time.
