Lillian Viele Obituary

Lillian Vagnini Viele
Lillian Vagnini Viele passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a remarkable and spirited life. Her journey was filled with determination, laughter, and an unwavering love for everyone lucky enough to know her. Born in Italy and raised in New Haven, she was a proud Marchegiana. Lillian infused the charm of her heritage with immigrant drive and ambition. She studied nursing at Hartford Hospital and spent her career caring for others-whether in hospitals, homes and finishing her career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she made many dear friends. She and her husband John(Jack) Viele built a life that was equal parts hard work and high spirits. They were often the last to leave a party, having too much fun to go home. Lillian had a knack for making people laugh-whether through her quick wit or her playful antics. Her love of travel took her around the world, always with family or friends. She soaked up every moment, every meal, and every memory-returning with many fun stories to share. And she had an uncanny ability to find the best bargain in any store. If shopping were an Olympic sport, she'd have taken home the gold. Lillian was a proud grandmother to Jack Viele, Liliana Logan, and Sadie (Camil) Blanchet. Her love for them was boundless. She helped raise her brothers Carlo and Dino while her mother and father worked. She was tough, generous, and fiercely loyal, to family and friends alike. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Jack, her grandson Jack Viele, and her brothers Carlo and Dino Vagnini. But her spirit lives on-in every laugh shared, every story told, and every moment of joy sparked by her memory. Lillian leaves behind her children John Viele (Theresa Ranciato), Lisa Mis (Michael), Lynn Logan (Robert). And if she were here right now, she'd give you a big hug and say, "Be good."

I´m so sorry to hear of Mom´s passing. Such a beautiful woman inside and out. I have such fun memories of her. I remember the time I took her to have a tooth extracted she had me laughing the entire time. I will think of her every time I make Pastate soup from one marchegiani to another.
Sincerely, Jeannie
