Lilly Kretsos

Lilly Kretsos née Rorris, age 87, fell asleep in the Lord January 27, 2023. Beloved wife of the late James Kretsos for 57 years. Loving mother of Angie (Casey) Brej, Irene (Scott) Lang and John (Maria) Kretsos. Devoted daughter of the late Elias and Athanasia Rorris. Proud grandmother of Kathleen Brej and Jenifer (Craig) Belcastro, Tatiana, Anthony and Niko Lang and Demetri, Dionysi and Christo Kretsos. Great grandmother of Beckett and Camden Belcastro. Dear sister of the late Panagiotis (Ariadne) Rorris. Fond aunt of Elias and Niko Rorris. Lilly immigrated to the United States alone at 19 without knowing English. She came only with a trunk and a dream of a better life, waiting for an aunt she had never met before. From those humble beginnings she built a beautiful life and family. Lilly was devoted to her church and faith. She loved baking koulouria and was always outgoing and made friends easily. To know her was to love her and she gave selflessly of her heart, spirit and treasure. Visitation Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at N. H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home 1240 Waukegan Road, Glenview, IL 60025. Funeral Service Wednesday, February 1, 2023, 11:00 AM at Saint Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church 7373 North Caldwell Avenue, Niles, IL 60714.
