She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church. After her husband retired, she worked at Seton Hill University in both the housekeeping department and the cafeteria. She valued her family above all and they loved and cherished her in return. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, crocheting, watching old movies and politics. Lily was very proud of a book that she wrote at the age of 95 about her life experiences. When she became a resident of St. Anne Home she enjoyed the activities and made many friends among the residents and staff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George J. Nalevanko; grandson, Thomas J. Brennan; and her two brothers, Max and infant, Eugene.
She is survived by her three children, Sandra Ferguson (Charles) of Derry, George R. Nalevanko (Maryann) of Mt. Airy, MD and Deborah Dominick (David) of Latrobe; a granddaughter, Cindy Shafer (David) of Bowie, TX; a great granddaughter, Caitlin McCartney (Kyle) of Nocona, TX; a great great granddaughter, Lily McCartney; several nieces and nephews; a special friend and neighbor, Debbie Barger; and her “adopted grandchildren”, McKensie, Caley, Jackson, Macy and Chelsy whom she enjoyed spending time with.
Lily's family is grateful for the staff of St. Anne's for her excellent care during her time there.
At Lily’s request, there will be no viewing.
