Linda Marie Anderson entered this world on July 5, 1955. She was born to Thomas Edward Anderson and Alma Marie Jones in Albion, Michigan. Several years later, Linda would welcome her sibling, Charles Anderson, into the world. Linda was a daddy’s girl, tagging along with her father on road trips and day-to-day errands whenever she was around him.
Linda would acquire her diploma from Albion High School and have her first son, Michael LaTroy Hall, in 1973. Linda lived in Albion until the 1980’s, at which time she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan. It was during this timeframe (1975 – 1980) that Linda began her career at State Farm Insurance and put in 40+ years before retiring in 2017.
In 1983, Linda welcomed her second child, Quentin, into the world. Linda worked for State Farm in their Marshall (MI) office, their Stadium Drive (Kalamazoo, MI) office, and finally their Portage Road (Portage, MI) office. Linda would start off living in the Milwood (Kalamazoo, MI) neighborhood, transition to the Portage (MI) community for their school systems, and then back to the Milwood neighborhood for her retirement.
Linda enjoyed having a cheat Friday, in her younger days, where she would fry up some delicious catfish and French fries, just to have a taste of some feel good food every so often. Linda enjoyed traveling and road trips. If the weather was cooperating, she could be found cruising through downtown Kalamazoo and enjoying events hosted in Bronson Park and by the Radisson Hotel. She also enjoyed visiting larger cities, like Atlanta, and going on a cruise with her girlfriends.
Linda was a fiercely independent person; she worked hard for what was hers. She was proud of her first blue 1970’s two-door chevy, which she drove the wheels off of, and then her gold 1980’s Pontiac Grand Am. She was later proud when she acquired her Mazda 626, her Mazda 626 ES, and her final vehicle, her black Toyota Camry. Linda was friendly but private; she’d talk your ear off if she trusted you and she’d keep her distance if felt she couldn’t.
Linda was enjoying her retirement when it was confirmed that God called her home on Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Marie Jones, and then her father, Thomas Edward Anderson. Linda is survived by her two sons, Michael Hall and Quentin Anderson, as well as 5 grandchildren.
