Linda Lee Sheets was born August 22, 1948, to Louis Clarence and Lana Rose Sheets in Tracy, Minnesota. Linda was the third born child of Louis and Lana. Linda had two older brothers: Louis Jr. (Butch) and Sherman, and four younger brothers: Kenny, Bruce, Lester, and Lee.
Linda was a “Mother” to all her brothers. As it goes in large families, Linda lovingly took on the role of devoted sister and Mother to her siblings. She was a very hard worker and care giver her entire life.
On August 19, 1970, in Windom Minnesota Linda married the love of her life, Charles Morris Benson, Jr. To this marriage three children were born: Jeffrey, Charles III, and Crystal.
Linda loved like no other. She was a devoted care giver for all her days. What started as a sister and mother to her brothers continued throughout her life. She raised her children with love and an iron fist! She learned that was necessary, sometimes the hard way, after raising her ornery brothers! Oh, the stories she could tell of all the trouble her brothers caused!
To no surprise, following her role as care giver to her siblings, Linda began her dream career as a day care provider opening Linda’s Day Care. Linda raised multiple generations of her “kids” spanning 30 years! She was even honored by the Governor of Minnesota for her dedication and work with children. She loved every one of them as her own.
Countless people over the years benefited from her hand-sewn products such as kitchen towels, walker holders, jeans’ patches, curtains; the list of which goes on and on. Every single stitch was always sewn with love.
Then there was her pride and joy—her garden and numerous house plants. She lovingly, weeded, watered and nurtured her many plants and flowers just as she did with all of her “kids” through the years.
Let us not forget her prowess in the kitchen too! Linda loved to bake goodies (especially muffins and breads) for anyone and everyone to enjoy. One thing is for sure, you NEVER left Linda’s kitchen hungry!!!
Linda was a spitfire who went a mile a minute for all her days. She will be missed by many and touched so many lives.
Linda left this earthly life on May 30, 2024. at her home after a very hard fought battle with brain cancer.
She is survived by her husband Charles Jr. of the home, Sons: Jeffrey (Debra) Salina KS, Charles III (Rebbecca) Mapleton MN, and Daughter Crystal (Cameron) Minneota, MN. Grandchildren: Nicholas (Kelsey), Matthew (Tiffany), Charles IV/Ivy, Tucker, Maisie, Corbin, and LiLinda. Great-Grandchildren: Alexander, Harland, Leona, and Renley. Siblings: Louis Jr. (Betty) Mesa AZ, Rebecca Sheets Staples MN, Kenny (Doris) Tracy MN, Bruce Amoret MN, Lester Buffalo MN and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved Day Care Kids.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Lana and two brothers Sherman and Lee.
