Linda Bishop Brock Smyth, 73, went to be with Jesus peacefully on January 6, 2024, at Lake Martin Community Hospital. She was born May 16, 1950, to Andrew and Mary Bishop in Reeltown, AL. She graduated from Reeltown High School class of 1968 then continued her education at Alexander City Junior College. Linda worked at Tallassee Tribune where she typed the paper from many years. She then moved to Sikorsky where she worked her way up to become the executive assistant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Bud, Rooster, Mary Emma, John, William, Pat, Betty, PeeWee, Lois, and Kathy. Linda was the baby of the family. She is survived by her daughter Julie (Butch) and Jenny (Shey); her granddaughter Jenna (Chase); her great granddaughter Jayne Rae; her dog Rusty; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Reeltown on Monday, January 8, 2024. Visitation was Sunday, January 7, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Reeltown from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
