Linda Lovelady Bohanon, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on September 14, 1937, to Eda Stone Lovelady and John Percy Lovelady, Linda grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she was raised in a home filled with faith, strength, and enduring family bonds.
Linda was known for her quiet wisdom, steadfast love, and deep sense of devotion to her family. Her life was marked by resilience, compassion, and the ability to bring warmth and comfort to those around her. Her faith in Jesus was the foundation and source of her gentle spirit, shaping the way she loved others with grace, humility and sincerity. Linda had a special way letting others know they mattered - she left individuals feeling deeply known, warmly welcomed and genuinely valued.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eda and John Lovelady; her sister, Edna Earle Williams; and her brother, John W. Lovelady.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa Bohanon Tinney, and her husband, Charles Tinney. Her niece, Karen Williams Lassiter, and nephew Marc Williams, and niece Martha Lovelady Bates. Linda took immense joy in her grandchildren and their growing families, each of whom she loved dearly. Her legacy continues through:
• Scott Tinney and his wife Kimberly, and their children Harbin, Catherine, Lydia, Ella, Penelope, Tennessee, Margaret, and Nora
• Crickett Ceccotti and her husband Adam, and their children Huckleberry, Charlie, Millie, Oliver, and Flora
• Bohanon Tinney and his wife Sarah, and their children Luke, Hannah, Ruby, and Lela
• Skylar Tinney and his wife Hilary, and their children Jack, Annie Keith, Henry, and Caroline
• Alex Tinney and his wife Lauren, and their daughter Teddy
Linda's life was a testimony to love and faith-she nurtured relationships with sincerity and steadiness, never seeking the spotlight but always showing up where she was needed most. Her presence will be missed beyond words, but her legacy lives on in the lives she touched. Above all, Linda loved her Savior, and her faith in Christ was evident in how she lived, loved and served others.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Pigeon Mountain Crossing. The family welcomes all who knew her to join in honoring and remembering her life.
