Linda Kay Brown, 74, of Virginia, formerly of Petersburg, Illinois, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at her residence. Linda was born on November 6, 1951 in Springfield, Illinois, to her parents, Dale and Dorothy Clark.
Linda married her husband Jackie "Jack" Brown in Petersburg on May 16, 1970. Her preceded her in death, along with her parents. She is survived by her children, Teresa Strawbridge, Becky (Guy) Morello, Brian (Emily) Brown, and Jeff (Tammy) Knodle; grandchildren, Ian and Alex Strawbridge, Lilyan Brown, Madelyn Stirmel, Izabelle Brown, Audri Brown, Kaitlyn, Sami and Kaleb Knodle; a great-grandchild, Olivia Ferguson, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Linda enjoyed sewing and crocheting, visiting the beach, and was known to be the "world's greatest cook" – with the smoke alarm as her timer. Above all, she cherished her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
A memorial service for Linda will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2pm at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
