Linda Bryson Obituary

Linda Moore Bryson

June 23, 1943 - November 21, 2025

Linda Moore Bryson, also known as "mom, mother, grammy and friend," passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025, in Greensboro, N.C. Born to Clyde Hubert Moore and Mary Dickens Moore on June 23, 1943, she was the third of four children and youngest girl. Growing up on a farm, she learned at an early age to be self sufficient with a love for animals, and adventure. Her motto her entire life was "throw it at the wall and see if it sticks and if it doesn't, pick it up and try it again", always believing in the "glass half full" philosophy.

Linda grew up in Greensboro and decided to attend Leon's aesthetician school. She fondly said her schooling was not wasted because for many years she cut her husbands and childrens hair, even folks in the neighborhood.

Linda spent her children's formative years at home, teaching them life skills and experiencing adventurers, long before it was cool to homeschool kids. When they were in elementary school, Linda went to work for a local construction company where she worked and ran the office for the next 23 years.

Linda had a love for family, traveling, crocheting, volunteering at the church and cooking. Against her families urging, at holiday events, she would always get the bright idea to "try" a new recipe, not the least bit worried if it would turn out or not. She always created delicious meals and welcomed anyone in to her typical southern hospitality. She always looked forward to gatherings at the church that involved cooking, a true dedication to her faith and love for cooking.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bryson of 60 years, meeting him on a blind date and marrying him eight months later. The two were inseparable and lived a full life. She was also preceded by her parents, Clyde and Mary Moore; and oldest sister, Melba Ward Moore.

She leaves behind her children, son, Tim Bryson (Greensboro, N.C.); daughter, Renee Bryson Mansir and her husband, Matthew (Greensboro, N.C.); grandson, Christopher Scott Mansir/Natalie/son Henry (Cheraw, S.C.). She also leaves behind her sister, Gale Moore Nuckles (Greensboro, N.C.); and brother, John Hubert Moore (Greensboro, N.C.); along with many cherished friends and extended family. She will be missed by her faithful dog companion "Rocco" who never left her side.

While Linda might have departed this physical world, the impact she had on people, family and the kindness and love she gave will never be forgotten. Her life was a testament to the power of compassion, faith in God, willingness to succeed and building bonds with family and friends. She never met a stranger. Knowing she is reunited with her husband, is no longer sick and her devotion as Christian will serve both as a beacon and testament to how she lived her life and she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Hanes Lineberry North Elm St. Greensboro, NC, on December 2nd, at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow.

Memorials can be made to Awaken Church Oak Ridge, 1715 NC-68, Oak Ridge, NC 27310, awaken-church.org
