Linda Ruth Calvert, 88 of Independence, MO passed away Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel with burial to follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the chapel. Linda was born January 23, 1937 in Adrian, MO to Ralph W. and Ruth Evelyn (Moore) Akins and has been a longtime area resident. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and homemaker and was also a beautician and had worked at the jewelry department at Kohl’s. She enjoyed watching CNN, shopping on the Jewelry TV Network and the Home Shopping Network as well as traveling with her husband in her earlier life. She was a long time member of the Methodist church. She is survived by; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Calvert, a grandson Austin Calvert, a great grandson, Korby Ring, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Lacey. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald B. Calvert in 2000, a grandson, Zachary Ring in 1990, a daughter, Kelli Ring in October of 2023 and a son, Jerry Calvert in December of 2023.
