On July 16, 2025, God saw fit to call another Angel on home; Linda Ferguson Carter. She was born September 22, 1949 to the late Earland Etta Ferguson.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Herman Carter, sister Genetta Phillips, brothers Earl Ferguson, Jr. and Danny Ferguson, Sr., and step-daughter Ju-Anita Turner, Earl and Etta Ferguson. .
Linda found Christ at an early age. She was an active member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church until she became ill. She was a former employee of Rock-Tenn Paper Mill.
Linda had such a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and shopping. With her beautiful smile and heart of gold, she has touched so many souls.
Linda is survived by her sisters Gloderia Hutcherson and Shirley Rucker; Sister-in-laws, Jackie Ferguson and Sophie Ferguson. She too leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Elbert Avery, Jr., Patricia Jackson (Mark), Tamika Carter (Charlene), Cheree Carter-Osei (Paul), Diane Grey and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg from 5 pm - 6 pm on Monday, July 21, 2025.
