MOUNT STERLING – Linda (Mary) Colwell, 83 of Mount Sterling, Ohio, passed away on Nov. 10, 2025 in her residence surrounded by her family.
Linda was born on Jan. 12, 1942 to the late Donald and Mildred (Ferryman) Adams.
Following her graduation from the 1960 Class of Mechanicsburg High School, Linda retired from Grimes after many years of dedicated service. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time in her flower beds, tending to her plants, and crocheting beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Linda loved to travel and especially looked forward to trips to the casino, where she always had a great time.
Family meant everything to Linda, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Christmas was her favorite time of year – she delighted in making homemade candy and sharing it with family and friends, spreading joy and warmth wherever she went. Her warmth, kindness and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Linda is survived by her daughters Jackie Harshbarger, Mary (Robert) Engle, Nancy (Bobby) Colwell; sons Thomas (Sharon) Collier, Carl Colwell, Jeff Colwell; 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Bonnie Pope; brother, Steven (Becky) Adams and several nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Jack Colwell; daughter Pamela Willmeth; sister, Kathy Pitts; brothers, Danny Adams, Larry (Denice) Adams; grandsons, Nick Hayes, Andy Hayes; granddaughter, Paige Harshbarger and twin great-granddaughters, McKensie and Mercedes.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17,2025 in SKILLMAN-MCDONALD VERNON, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Kevin Kitchens officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Mutual Cemetery.
