Obituary for Linda Diane Creacy Morse
November 7, 1953 – November 7, 2025
Linda Diane Creacy Morse, 72, passed away peacefully on her birthday, November 7, 2025. Born in Borger, TX, 1953, Diane lived a life defined by resilience, service, sharp wit, and a deep, unwavering love for her family. Her marriage to William Morse, sometime Coal miner and farrier of Dawson Springs, Ky yielded two sons and in her own words "The best thing that ever happened in that marriage was the boys." Surviving her are elder son, Chris Allen Morse and wife Patricia living in Terra Haute, Indiana, and younger Michael Wayne Morse, who now resides in Florence, Kentucky. She was loved by her nephews & nieces: Chuck Creacy,
Lexington, KY, Carlyn Rockett of Boyce, LA, David and Angela Coburn of Woodward, OK, as well as the rest of the family, Aunts, Uncles, and many cousins.
Diane's Grandchildren include Christopher Morse Jr., Kiara Morse, Brittany Bigham, Hunter Waynick, Jacob Morse and Brianna Ashby. She is also survived by an older brother, Don Creacy of
Lexington, Kentucky, and two sisters. Debbie Harbour of Clinton, Arkansas, and Cindy Coburn of Woodward, Oklahoma.
Diane was proceeded in death, by her parents: Father, Linnie Lee Creacy, 10/8/2000, birthmother, Linda Oleta Creacy Newman 2/25/1960, and much-loved MOM, Mary Lois Petty Creacy of Three Penny Momma fame 4/7/2004. Proud of her two sons, Chris and Mike, remained the central shining light of her world throughout her life. She adored her grandchildren, celebrating every milestone and treasuring every moment spent with them.
A woman of remarkable versatility and determination, Diane was tough and served as a police officer and volunteer firefighter for Dawson Springs, Kentucky, before pursuing a career in healthcare as a Med Tech. Never one to shy away from hard work or a new challenge, she later took to the open road as a long-distance truck driver, amassing more than two million safe miles. Her skill and professionalism earned her the role of corporate trainer, where she mentored countless new drivers with patience, confidence, and humor. Diane's safe miles gave her "license to comment" frequently upon your driving skills, as well as mine.
In her younger years, Diane was a great gardener; she could coax beauty and bounty from even the most stubborn dirt. She also earned legendary status for her ability to dress a deer, cleaner and faster, than most men-a point of pride she carried with a smile. "Field to table, I never nicked a cape and that skin was clean of fat too." She was also extremely accurate with a long bow. She loved our first nation's people.
Diane was the middle child of the three siblings of Linnie and Linda Creacy, growing up alongside Don "Buck," and Debbie, and later welcoming half-sister, Lucinda, "Cindy" Coburn. Their shared memories and bond remained a source of comfort and joy throughout her life. Diane was her sibling's first and best lifelong friend. Strong, capable, and endlessly caring, Diane touched everyone she met in a good way. Her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her will feel her absence deeply. She will be profoundly missed. She requested her ashes to be scattered in the southwest near a region she loved most.
