Linda Cubitt Davis GREENVILLE - Mrs. Linda Cubitt Davis, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 2 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Committal of cremated remains will follow in the church columbarium, and the family will then receive friends in the Parish Hall. Linda was born on November 16, 1940, to the late Edward and Louise West Cubitt and was raised in Spartanburg, SC. She graduated from Spartanburg High School and attended Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Tennessee. Linda met the love of her life, Kenneth Joseph "Joe" Davis, as a young teenager. They became best friends and a perfect team. In 1959 they married and filled their 66 years of marriage with laughter, adventure and devotion to their children and grandchildren. For many years, Linda and Joe's deep love for friends and family turned their home into a place where gatherings happened often and spontaneously, made even more memorable by her warmth, exceptional cooking and gracious hospitality. She will be remembered by many for her welcoming heart and boundless capacity to love and care for others. Linda was a long-time member of St Paul's Episcopal Church in Greenville and more recently St Thomas Episcopal Church in Bath, NC. She also made dear, decades-long friendships as a member of the Fidelis Book Club, her garden club, German Club and the Last Drop Bridge Club. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother Buddy Cubitt and sister Anne Cubitt Martin. She is survived by her husband, Joe Davis, and their four children: Jennifer Davis Dymond (Bill) of Winter Park, FL; Gregg Davis (Laura) of Raleigh, NC; Anne Lynne Charbonnet (Storey) of New Orleans, LA; and Scott Davis (CC) of Charleston, SC. Linda is known affectionately as "Indy" to her twelve grandchildren: Michael Dymond (Carolyn), Jenna Dymond Estes (Will), Cori Dymond Couch (Kevin), Georgia Davis, Luke Davis, Grady Davis, Davis Charbonnet, Storey Charbonnet, John Charbonnet, Ruthie Davis, Celia Davis, and Hank Davis; And to her great-granddaughters: Eloise Dymond, Margo Dymond, Annie Couch, her namesake, Indy Cubitt Estes, and expected great-granddaughter due in March. The oldest of seven children, she is survived by her beloved four youngest siblings who gave her the nickname "Indy": Jamie Hodge (Laura); Mark Hodge (Suzette); Penn Hodge (Cynthia); Mia Hodge Thompson (Jim); And her sister-in-law, Dodie Cubitt Satterfield (Holland); Her brother-in-law, Jerry Martin; Her aunt Jeanne Cubitt; And numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda will be fondly remembered by her "nine neighborhood boys" who, many years after her grown children had moved away, were given full rein of her yard for sports and play. New friendships took root and grew strong, and Linda and Joe happily watched their home once again become the favorite gathering place. Linda was beautiful and talented in so many ways, but above all she knew how to give and nurture in a way that made the world a better place.
