Princeton - Linda L. Donahue, 74, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2024 at OSF St. Claire Hospital surrounded by her family, who all loved her so very much.
Born on March 24, 1950 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Kermit and Helen Cook. She married Joseph (Ed) Donahue on May 14, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Malden, IL.
Linda graduated from Malden High School, Class of 1968. She was a waitress at Beaber's Restaurant where she met her beloved husband Ed. She then managed Happy Joe's Pizza Parlor before joining the Bureau County Sheriff's Department. Linda loved being the Dare officer for the Bureau County Sheriff's department. Teaching and positively impacting children was her proudest career accomplishment.
Her favorite thing to do was to cook and bake for everyone she loved. Her love language was serving a plate of food that was a portion size for three people. If you were lucky enough to get a plate of her cookies, you knew you were special to her. If not in the kitchen she was out in her flower garden.
Surviving is her husband Joseph (Ed) Donahue of 27 years; daughter Jennifer (Mitch) Conwell of Princeton, IL; grandchildren Brielle and Beckett, who were the apple of her eye; two brothers, Doug (Alice) Cook of Princeton, IL and Dave (Becky) Cook of Dover, IL; as well as 17 nieces and nephews.
Linda donated her body to science in hopes to contribute to the cure for cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Nick and Ashley Peach 23002 2400 East Street in Princeton, IL. Please join us in celebrating what an amazing woman she was, Mardi Gras style, in honor of our love and memories together with numerous trips to New Orleans.
