Linda Kay Durland, 57, passed away March 7, 2025, at The University of Kansas Health Systems – Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on October 23, 1967, in Great Bend, Kansas, to Gary and Mary (Kohn) Durland.
A resident of Wichita since 2018, Linda loved to write poetry. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, as well as Zaik Church, including their Empty Nesters group. Linda was strong in her faith, sharing her love for the Lord through scripture, reading the Bible and listening to Christian music. She was an avid K-State and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Linda was a happy and upbeat person, who loved her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews of multiple generations.
Survivors include two brothers, Ron Durland and wife Diane of Great Bend, and David Durland and wife Angela of Spring Hill; three sisters, Barbara Downey and husband Delbert of Wright, Jeanette Standlee and husband Brian of Belvue, and Carla Durland of Wichita; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; godmother, Sandra Kohn and friend Jerry Hale of Lady Lake, Florida; uncle and aunt, Galen and Doris Kohn of Dodge City; several cousins; and numerous other loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gregory Durland; and godfather, Charles Kohn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will take place from noon to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 17, 2025, with family receiving guests from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been designated to the Linda Durland Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
