Linda Marie Evans, born on September 20, 1954, in Wilmington, Delaware, went home to be with her Lord surrounded by the love of her family on October 24, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Rucker; the man she lovingly called "Daddy," Marvin Garyantes; her aunt, Margaret Thatcher; her sister, Carol Barone; and her precious granddaughter, Elizabeth ("Nene").
Linda is survived by her devoted mother, Elizabeth Garyantes; her two brothers, Jeff Powell and Harry Powell and wife Patty; and her cousin, Shelia Butler and husband Mark. She also leaves behind her beloved children, Norman Evans Jr. and wife Amber, Brandy Cook and husband Jason, Michael Evans and wife Samantha, and Brandon Evans and wife Kathryn; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
A proud member of The Pentecostal Church, Linda lived her life as a shining example of the love of Jesus. Her faith journey began 50 years ago when her neighbors, Rex and Lenora Polk, lovingly introduced her to the Lord, a moment that sparked a beautiful, multigenerational ripple of faith throughout her family. Linda's greatest desire was to share the joy and wholeness she found in Christ with everyone she met.
Her heart was full of grace, her spirit steadfast in faith, and her legacy one of love, devotion, and unwavering belief in The One who made her whole and filled her with unspeakable joy.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel. In lieu of a service following, she would ask that each of you take a moment to read Acts 2:38. Arrangements under the care of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
