Linda Ferguson, age 74, of Selma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Park Place Nursing Home in Selma.
She was born in Mobile on September 23, 1949 to the late Debose and Louise Pugh Roberts.
She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Most importantly, she was a devoted child of God.
She leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Doug Ferguson; children, Kerry Smith, Richard (Tammy) Ferguson, Dan Ferguson; grandchildren, Hunter (Jennifer) Smith, Heather (Alex) Waites, Hope Smith, Bryanna (Gabe) Dees, Vali and Ana Headley; great-grandchildren, Lily and Harper Waites, Peyton and Jackson Smith, Lowen Dees: and sisters, Jane (David) Guy and Sue Fuller.
She is preceded in death by daughter Teresa Ferguson; son-in-law,Kerry L. Smith; siblings, Russell Roberts (Peggy), Jimmy Roberts, Tony Roberts and Betty Graves.
She was a teacher most of her life until she retired to spend time with her family. She was an avid basketball and softball player as a child, earning the nickname Speedy. Graduate of Jackson High School. A faithful member of Houston Park Church of Christ for over 40 years. She enjoyed her time with family and friends, painting and camping.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 am. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Minister Van Sprague officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 in her memory.
