Linda Ferguson, 78, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday September 15, 2024, at La Porte Hospital, with her husband and son at her side.
She was born July 23, 1946 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Albert and Vera Kraus.
On June 10, 1967, in La Porte, Indiana, Linda married the love of her life, James "Jim" Ferguson, who survives.
A lifelong resident of the area, Linda was a homemaker and devout member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Hammond, Indiana, where she and her husband , Jim, attended every Sunday. In her younger days, Linda was an avid creator of crafts, loved reading and taking yearly trips with Jim to Gatlinburg. More recently, she enjoyed doing word search puzzles, reading, socializing on Facebook, and eating Jim's country style milk gravy, which he made especially for her. Her greatest passion, after God, were her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart. Linda was adored by many people and will be missed by all who met her.
Along with her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her son, Det. James T (Nicole) Ferguson of La Porte, IN; , IN; five grandchildren, Robert, Hunter, Reese, Cade, Dane; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Inara; close friend, Leslie Cash of La Porte; her Shih-poo, Layla, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jesse and Larry and sisters, Marilee and Alvera.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Reverend Rick Helton, officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to the Pentecostal Church of God, Hammond, IN.
