Linda Fox Shultz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service - Bridgewater on Dec. 30, 2025.
Linda Lou Fox Shultz, 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She was born on June 22, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Lawson) Fox.
In her professional and personal life, Linda exemplified the joy of a life dedicated to service. For decades, she was a familiar and dependable presence as a bus driver for Rockingham County Public Schools, ensuring countless students arrived safely at their destinations.
Linda's spirit of generosity extended beyond the school system, particularly through her passion for cooking and bringing people together. Her culinary talents were shared generously, as she cooked for many years at the VFW, the Eagles, and the AMVETS, where she undoubtedly nourished both bodies and friendships.
Even in recent times, her commitment to helping others never waned. She continued to serve her community by providing transportation for those in need, a testament to her enduring kindness and tireless work ethic.
Linda's legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and a selfless heart that found pleasure in making the lives of others a little easier. She will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to ride her bus, share her meals, or simply benefit from her helping hand.
She is survived by her children, Daryl Miller and his wife, Suzanne, Michael Hedrick, and Preston Hedrick, as well as her brother Larry Fox. She was blessed with grandchildren: Seth Miller, Clay Miller and wife, Sarah, and Bryce Miller, and two great-grandchildren: Wade and Lilah Miller, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Shultz, her son, Ray Miller, and her brother, Wayne Fox.
A service celebrating Linda's life will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home in Bridgewater, Virginia, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends following the service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at johnsonfs.com.
