Linda Bertoniere Gallaty was called to Heaven on Monday, January 29, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN. She was 81 years old. Ms. Gallaty was born in New Orleans, LA, a former longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish Louisiana and a resident of Indianapolis, IN for the past 2 years. She graduated from Nicholls High School New Orleans LA, Class of 1960. After being a homemaker for nearly 25 years, she proudly completed secretarial school in 1988 at Elaine P. Nunez Vo-Tech School. Shortly after, she was hired at Lykes Bros. Steamship Company in New Orleans and quickly advanced to the executive secretarial floor.
Linda is survived by her three daughters, Gaye Mladenoff of Indianapolis, IN, Cindy Goelz (Frank) of Hammond, LA, and Terri Gallaty (Janet Genusa) of New Orleans, LA, her grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashley), Marcio Jr. and Sabrina Mladenoff, Megan Robert (Adam) and Adelyn Gallaty, her great-grandchildren, Kylee Landry, Marcus and Melody Mladenoff, Ellen Goelz, and Elouise Robert. She is also survived by her sister Audrey Glynn and brother Robert Bertoniere as well as her son-in-law Marcio Mladenoff Sr.
Preceded in death by her father, Edward P. Bertoniere, her mother, Ethel Bertoniere and her first grandson, Justin Goelz.
Linda was an accomplished piano player and seamstress. She developed a love of music from her father as a young girl and found much joy in playing the piano when she took lessons as a young woman at Werlein's in New Orleans, continuing to avidly play later in life.
Linda will be laid to rest alongside her mother at Lake Lawn Park and Mausoleum in a private family service.
