Linda Hurlbutt, 66, of Liscomb, Iowa, passed away on the afternoon of June 9, 2023 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa with her family at her side.
Services for Linda will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Liscomb Cemetery. Linda Sue Petermeier was born August 16, 1956 to parents Elmo and Marjorie (Zimmer) Petermeier in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the only child to their union. Linda grew up and attended Catholic Schooland graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1974.
Linda raised her two children, Neil and Leah. She was a hard worker and loved to be with her family and take care of them. She worked for Kiowa in Marshalltown for many years and then worked for Richie Industries for over 20 years. In her free time, Linda always enjoyed talking and spending time with her family and friends, she also enjoyed playing games, cooking a good meal to share, and watching movies. She was a simple and humble woman.
Linda is survived by her son Neal Hurlbutt; her step-children, Tammy (Brian) Creveling, Dru (Laura) Sanderson, Aaron (Elizabeth) Sanderson; her grandson Douglas Cornelius; numerous step-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Sanderson; her daughter Leah Cornelius; and her parents Elmo and Marjorie Petermeier.
